Jon and Kate Take the Plunge...Once Again

Last night's episode was...well it lived up to the hype but it was also sort of a let down. In my opinion I think it was TLC that seemed to make the public believe that it would be an ultra-exclusive wedding. However, it was just the opposite. It was a casual wedding, which is what I am seeing a lot of days with couples who want to renew their vows. I thought it was cool that Kate was so laid back when it came to the wedding and even getting ready for it. Kudos to her. I thought for sure she would have at least one freak out, but it was nice to know that Kate said to h*ll with it and just let the kids be.

I will have to say one thing...I don't know about anyone else but I am ready for a vacation at Hawaii. And I want to stay there. I know, I know... I'm just a sheeple for saying that. (Off topic for a moment...please don't talk about how Kate makes up words because for the life of me I have no unearthly idea what the h*ll a sheeple is...anyway) Well you want to know my response to that...baaaaaa. I don't care whether your a fan or not, you have to admit that the resort they stayed at was beautiful and the scenery was gorgeous. (I would have golfed with Jon the next day and I don't even know how to golf...let alone hold a club.) And even though the ceremony was not ultra extravagant I am kinda glad it wasn't. I know Jon and Kate said they did it for the kids, but I think they did more for themselves then anyone else. I think with all that they have been through these past few years, I think that they wanted to reassure themselves not everyone else that their in it for the long haul. And it was nice to see their relatives from Jon's side to see them and the kids.

And contrary to popular belief I do not think that Jon and Kate were ungrateful to have their relatives there. I think it is quite the opposite. Not all people are touchy feely. And while Kate and Jon do show their affection to each other and the children it is nothing like the Duggars or other TV families. Want to know the reason why?...This may surprise you but not all families are touchy feely and lovey dovey. (I know shocking ain't it? And really is feely and dovey really words? Apparently not according to Webster.) I come from a family that loves each other very much but just because we don't hug each other every 5 seconds doesn't mean we don't. And as someone on another site pointed out...different cultures show affection differently. Not less just differently.

This was a great episode and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wonder when the new season will come on and what will the season opener be about. Will it be them moving into their new house...or the yard sale? I am guessing the yard sale, but who knows. What I do know is that when the ratings come out I am sure Jon and Kate will be near if not at the top. And while I feel like I am beating a dead horse (which I think we are doing a lot lately because some seem to believe it will give one more breath...) I once again have to say that as long as viewers pour in good or bad TLC will continue to run the show regardless of what articles are out there. It is only when there is a decrease in ratings is when they will pull the plug.

And just one final note before I leave...I watched the other show...twins, twins, and sextuplets. I am not sure what to think of this show. I will definitely tune in next week. I like the husband and wife interaction, it is similar to the way my husband and I interact with each other. Though I do not think it will steal the thunder of the Gosselin's because they truly are in a league of their own. (And I can hear it now...their awful parents for exploiting their handicapped child.)

So what do you think of the wedding? Were you expecting so much more or was that just what you had in mind?

I loved the episode. I think Kate looked amazing, and she was very laid back. Jon looked handsome and the kids were all adorable.
I love that the girls had pedicures and Mommmy tooke the older 2 for a "spa treatment"
I loved how laid back and calm the ceremony was. It makes me want to renew my vows in Hawaii even more now!!!

I have to say I am getting tired of the commercial for the Monday night shows on TLC, not so much the commercial itself, but the song. Its getting old...lol

Personally, I was happy with it. It was nice to see Kate so laid back and relaxed with everything. I hate how so many people are so critical of these people, but I also see why they develop that criticism. I really don't believe that Jon or Kate would do anything that wasn't in the best interest for their kids, and when they think the cameras need to go off, they will be off.

As for watching, I will still tune it. I enjoy it.

Wonderful Wedding!

I looked ahead on TLC'S weekly schedules. An episode called Yard Sale airs next week, and an episode (forgot the name) also airs with the book tour and some other interviews.

Also- I agree that the commercial is way OVER RUN! It almost brought me to tears at first, and now I am just make a bear roar everytime it comes on.

And the new family, was anyone else heartbroken when on the new family show, one of the kids stated that the sextuplet born with cerebral palsy took a hit for the team?

In response to the above comment, the mom of the 2-2-6 family said in an interview (can't remember where, sorry) that the child with cerebral palsy "took a hit for the team" so I think that's just how the parents explained it to the other kids. So it was the mom's words, not really the kid.

Watching the larger family made me appreciate Kate's organization even more. Did they really say they go to the grocery store EVERY DAY? I would have thought with a family that large that one would need to plan a bit more and cut it down to once a week. They are kind of fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants people and that just doesn't appeal to me. I love Kate's organization, structure, etc. and that's one of the things the Gosselins have that is different. The Gosselins also eat organically like I do, are Christians, as I am, and so I can relate more to them.

I am pretty sure one of the kids said it.

I know one of the kids said it in Monday's episode. The mom ALSO said it in an interview. So, what I meant was that the kids say it that way because they've heard their mom say it that way. That's what I meant when I said it was the mom's words. The kids learned it from her.

OH I see what you mean Allison. ;-)

Ok, so I agree with a few of your points. One, I SO want to stay at the GW now too. But I'm not fooled (and I hope Joe Average Family isn't fooled either) that I will arrive there with the sort of "accomodating extras" J&K were greeted with. I've stayed at The Four Seasons, a place certainly on par w/ The GW, and never once was greeted with gift baskets, robes, chef coats etc. Unless you are totally rolling in some MAJOR dough, you'll probably be treated nicely there, but not with such extravagance as J&K received. Next point I agree with: TLC will continue to run the show as long as people are talking/debating/watching the show. Networks are in it to make $$ and create hype about shows. The End. On to what I must respectfully disagree with: I don't for one minute believe J&K did this vow renewal for any reason other than the fact it was paid for by TLC. They aren't convincing themselves of anything. From what we were shown of her 1st wedding, it looked absolutely stunning. I think it sort of spits in the faces of those who only WISH they could have such a lovely wedding as thier first looked. Anyway, my feeling is that vow renewals are for the couple to do in private, not make a big production out of. Kate said it herself, she used to think vow renewals were sort of boring. Well Kate, a lot of us agree. I found the episode a big *yawn* I also disagree with the fact that it wasn't an extravagant ceremony. The flowers alone were probably in the thousands. I've also been to Kleinfelds. Dresses there *start* over a thousand. Did anyone else feel that the whole "Jon's family" interaction seemed really awkward and staged..and also maybe a little bit sad? I'm not a J&K hater, nore lover..but somewhere in between. The wedding thing just seemed forced and wierd. Just My Opinion. :-)
